Shortwave | When An Israeli Settler & Palestinian Meet

What do an Israeli settler and a Palestinian in the West Bank have in common?  Ali Abu Awad and Myron Joshua talked to Shtetl about Roots, a non-violence initiative in a Jewish and Palestinian area of the West Bank.  In light of the recent kidnapping of three Jewish students from their area (in fact from Joshua’s own settlement) we talked about violence, the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement, empathy and the possibility of a solution.

On the first part of the show, meet Canadian performance artist from Winnipeg Michael Dudeck (pictured below), a self-proclaimed witch doctor and the artist-in-residence at The Institute for Art, Religion, and Social Justice at Union Theological Seminary in New York.

What is his “Punc Archeology Manifesto”? “The Genesis Complex”?

Music by Lenny Breau (from Winnipeg), The East-West Ensemble and Ben Caplan & The Casual Smokers.
