Sephardic Music Festival – Dec 8-15 – NYC

When you think about traditional Jewish music, what are the first things that come to mind? Mostly Ashkenazi icons like gefilte fish, bagels and klezmer music. This music festival steers away from the norm and gives us a look at the music style of the lesser known Jewish communities of Spain, North Africa and the Middle East. Along with the traditional folk and Shabbat songs in the Sephardic community there are also many experimental fusions with Hip-Hop and dance.
