World premiere of Shira Avni’s short film, Petra’s Poem, at Toronto’s Hot Docs Documentary Film Festival.
An animated dance film, based on a poem recited by Petra Tolley, a young artist with Down Syndrome. This film mixes live-action footage, rotoscopy and under-camera animation to illuminate Petra’s poem about “being in the middle” as a person with Down Syndrome.
