Arab-Israeli author Sayed Kashua is on today’s episode of Shtetl on the Shortwave. Kashua writes the story of being Arab and Palestinian and trying to get by in a Jewish state.

Kashua is an Arab Israeli novelist, journalist and sitcom writer for the funny and controversial Hebrew show Arab Labor. And he’s a bit of a nervous wreck too.

Israeli born Arab Sayed Kashua has published three books and is known for his satirical columns in Jerusalem newspapers Haaretz and Ha’ir, and for his Seinfeld-esque sitcom about being Arab in Israel.
