Yael Naim is in town all the way from Paris and will be live on Shtetl on the Shortwave. Yael was born in France to Tunisian parents, grew up in Israel and has made Paris her home. She plays L’Astral this Saturday night with her new album She Was a Boy. Best known for her hit I’m a New Soul which got picked up for the Apple computer ad, Naim sings in French, Hebrew and English. Shtetl is in love!

Also on the show is Jennifer Herszman Capraru founder of Isoko Theatre in Rwanda and of Theatre Asylum. She is the director of The Monument a play about the Rwandan genocide that will be at the MAI theatre on May 10th and 11th.  Jennifer first went to Rwanda in 2006 to work on the film Shake Hands with the Devil about General Romeo Dallaire where she met some of the theatre folks who are now here in Canada showcasing the best of the Rwandan arts scene.
