This new and original way to celebrate Passover is will hopefully become an annual tradition among Montrealers. Our Jewish community wishes to offer a new, engaging way to experience and observe this holiday. There will a lecture by Dr. Joe Schwarcz (Science of the Ten Plagues, 12:00 pm March 14) and Rabbi Poupko (Beth Israel Beth Aaron Synagogue) will commemorate an historical Passover event: The Warsaw ghetto uprising.
Evening highlights include: the building of a papier-maché pyramid and a horseradish eating competition, both of which will attempt to qualify for a Guinness World Record, and a community-wide flash mob to the Dayenu Passover Song.
The event will also feature a number of performances including, Alyssa Yufe (Westmount), Brandon Rudnikoff (Montreal), Lorne Backler (Côte-St-Luc), Ali Kirstein (Montreal) and Segal Centre’s very own Jonathan Moyal (Westmount).
