David Bezmozgis: “Adventures in The Free World”
Nov. 15th- Maass  Chemistry Building – Room 328, 801 Sherbrooke West – 11:30AM – Free

This writer and filmmaker will give a free talk about his most recent novel The Free World. It has received some great reviews while Bezmozgis himself was named on the New Yorkers ‘20 under 40’ list.
Here’s what one columnist had to say about The Free World: “Bezmozgis laces even his darkest humor with pathos. While his depictions don’t flatter his subjects, they honor them by conveying each person’s individual history, motivations and truth.”—Liesl Schillinger, The New York Times Book Review
Bezmozgis is best known for Natashahis collection of short stories about Latvian Jews in suburban Toronto.Listen to him first on Shtetl: http://shtetlmontreal.com/2012/01/05/david-bezmozgis-on-shtetl/
