Monday, October 1st – doors at 7 PM / show at 8 PM
Montreal-based band The Damn Truth will bereleasing their album “Dear in the Headlights” at a party and show at Cabaret du Mile End on October 1st.
The Damn Truth began as a duo, when Lee-La, Montreal-born but partly raised in Israel, first met and began playing acoustic music with Tom. Joining her on a return trip home, Tom then immigrated to Canada. The pair found themselves recording an album in Toronto with Barry Labotta (Phase One Studios), the man who first brought Jimi Hendrix to Canada, before finally settling down in Montreal. They later met the two other future members of the band at an MTV video shoot. They started by playing covers at dozens of bars around Montreal, as “The Grinders,” before moving on to work out their own original compositions. They now play eclectic rock ‘n roll, and will be taking this to Cabaret du Mile End (5240 ave. Du Parc) on October 1st.
Tickets: $10 each (includes a copy of the new album)
