LE MOOD – The Festival of Unexpected Jewish Learning, Arts & Culture
Sunday, October 14th – Espace Réunion (6600 Hutchison St.)
LE MOOD is a one-day festival of Jewish arts, culture and learning that began in 2011 with “the simple belief that something incredible would happen if the most daring young thinkers, performers and artists in Jewish Montreal gathered under one roof.” Last year’s festival provided a wide and quirky variety of events, topics, and artists, and this year is sure to exhibit a similar mix. It promises film screenings, workshops, comedy, live music performances, art exhibitions, panel discussions, lectures and more. Some notable programming features include: “Can You Tell Me How to Get to Shalom Sesame Street?” – an interactive discussion with a Sesame Street / Shalom Sesame writer & animator; “Knish History 101”; “Occupying Judaism” (Jewish Values & Occupy Wall Street); and an “interactive slide show presentation” and talk by Eli Valley, of The Jewish Daily Forward comics section fame (“Eli Valley’s Temple of Self-Hatred”).
Full-day tickets are $20; however, there are still tickets available online at reduced prices ($5) – see https://www.lemood.ca/en/tickets/
