Basya Schechter of Pharoah’s Daughter fame, sings the  poetry of mystic and philosopher Abraham Joshua Heschel on her new album Songs of Wonder (album cover pictured left). Schechter plays at Dorshei Emet in Montreal this Saturday.


Tzeporah Berman is a legendary Canadian environmental activist. Perfect for Tu b’shvat!  The woman behind the 2005 campaign to stop Victoria’s Dirty Secret, Berman has been negotiating to save Canada’s and the world’s forests for over 20 years.  Mark Brooks, host of Earthgauge radio show in Ottawa interviews Berman about her new book, This Crazy Time, for Shtetl.
