Shortwave | Suicide, Oh My God TV & Halal-a-days

Writer and Yiddish Prof. Eddy Portnoy makes a hobby of rummaging through the old European Yiddish press for the daily tales of the Jewish masses. In this audio piece, based on an article in Tablet Magazine, Portnoy recounts the bizarre, tragic and commonplace stories of Jewish suicides in 1920 and 30’s Poland.
