“For my dear Atwater”, an exhibit of treasures of the archives of the Atwater Library, curated by Edward McCann, will be open to the public in the Reading Room on the main floor. The title is Leonard Cohen’s inscription of his 1964 book Flowers for Hitler, that is in the display. The exhibit spans the 182-year history of the organization, which was founded as a mechanics’ institute. The Library is a National Historic Site. The exhibit runs until September 21st.
Come enjoy tasty smoked meat sandwiches, a silent auction, and a live jazz performance by the Dave Turner Jazz trio at the Library’s Annual Benefit Cocktail Party. The 2011 event is set for Wednesday, November 2. Please save the date!
